Historic Preservation
kennedy’s education and career in historic preservation spans 20 years, with origins in 2003 as a docent at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio in Oak Park, IL. Since then, she has become a licensed architect, being a steward through architecture of 13 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, and supporting communities in the preservation of the places they love on the east and west coasts.
While employed full-time at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, she provided both historic preservation design and owner’s representation/construction management services, managing the NYC Façade Inspection Safety Program (FISP) for the historic campus.
Her passion for preservation has transcended the 9 to 5 as a volunteer with Historic Seattle, serving on their Council, 4Culture’s Historic Preservation and Advisory Committee, and co-founding and naming a subcommittee of 4Culture, Beyond Integrity. Beyond Integrity is a citizen committee of preservation professionals who challenge the notion of what deserves to be landmarked in King County.
Everyone deserves beauty.
